How many times have you happened to pass by a company and notice its paper bins overflowing with sheets, documents and prints that are often untouched?

It doesn’t take much: a printing error, a typo, the document sent to the printer two or more times by mistake.

But what does this mean for the environment?

Based on a calculation made by the WWF, approximately 79 thousand sheets are obtained from a tree. A tangible example: a pine of average diameter and 15 meters high is equivalent to about 176 books of 450 pages each.

Quoting a recent study conducted by ETH Zürich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule, the Federal Polytechnic of Zurich) “Trees are our most powerful weapon in the fight against climate change”.

So why keep wasting this precious resource, polluting the environment? If the introduction of differentiated waste collection was an important step towards civilization, the real goal must be zero production.

The CHANGE project by Terratinta Group is born for this reason too and has the idea of “PAPER DECREASE” as one of its starting points.

Enough so with useless or avoidable prints and make way for technical and technological evolution!

Not only CHANGE means the optical archiving of all documentation for internal use (and this is already allowing us to drastically reduce the production of paper). More important, and an even more strategic and revolutionary choice in our sector, CHANGE resulted in the abolition of all paper catalogues, with the exception of the annual general catalogues, allowing us to review the business practices from the basics, changing the forma mentis of each of us and establishing new habits aimed at protecting the environment that will make the whole Terratinta Group a company seriously committed to sustainability and – therefore – the future.
